Open Building. Open Cities. Jacob van Rijs reflects on Marc’s initiative

Reflecting on the initiative, Van Rijs describes how Marc Koehler brought together architects and construction professionals to further develop Open Building as a collaborative approach that extends beyond individual buildings to neighbourhoods and cities. Speaking about Superlofts, he explains: “It’s a system where you have a box 6 metres high… so that residents can develop their own house. That height gives freedom within the box… it’s very flexible.”
