“An attractive and pleasant public space is created around the buildings,” writes the selection committee about UP!, the winning proposal for a new mixed-use development in the heart of Zoetermeer.

The article highlights how the project combines 235 homes for different target groups with spaces for makers, creatives and entrepreneurs, while activating the ground floor with public amenities for the wider community. Green rooftop gardens and shared meeting spaces further strengthen the ambition to create a lively and inclusive neighbourhood. Designed with flexibility in mind, both the homes and parking facilities can adapt to changing ways of living and future user needs.
